Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of interactive learning methods in enhancing vocabulary acquisition among eighth-grade students at MTs Puspa Bangsa Banyuwangi. In the context of English language education, a robust vocabulary is crucial for effective communication and academic performance. Using a quasi-experimental design, the research involved an experimental group that participated in interactive learning activities and a control group that received traditional instruction. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure vocabulary knowledge, complemented by classroom observations and student feedback surveys. The findings reveal a significant increase in vocabulary acquisition for the experimental group, with post-test scores showing an average improvement of 25% compared to pre-test scores. Observational data indicate that interactive learning enhances student engagement, collaboration, and motivation, creating a dynamic classroom environment. Student feedback further emphasizes the positive impact of interactive activities, with many reporting an increased enjoyment and effectiveness in learning. This study concludes that integrating interactive learning strategies into English language instruction can significantly enhance vocabulary acquisition and foster a more positive attitude toward learning. Future research is recommended to explore the broader applicability of interactive methods across various educational contexts.
